  • International House students and participants are subject to the rules and regulations governing the particular campus location attended.
  • Campus selection is based on age only. Students between the ages 9-14 will be placed at Glendon Campus, while students between the ages of 15-18 will be placed at St. Michael’s Campus. Students above the age of 18 WILL NOT be accepted into the Junior Programs.
  • The IILC Residence and the Homestay options are for the adults in the Family Programs only.
  • To guarantee your room occupancy preference you must pay a fee of $75.00 fee before March 31, 2011, otherwise a room will be assigned for you based on availibility.
  • Arrivals and Departures: Normal check-in is Saturday or Sunday at 15:00. Checkout is Saturday or Sunday at 10:00. Students with mid-week arrival will be charged a $75 surcharge in addition to their program fee.
  • Conduct and discipline: International House practices a zero tolerance policy with regards to bad and/or inappropriate behaviour and reserves the right to send home or suspend any student or group leader whose behaviour does not comply with campus rules and/or local laws. Such offences include but are not limited to:
    • Under-age purchase, attempted to purchase or consumption of alcohol or tobacco;
    • Possession of illegal substances;
    • Property damage of any sort
    • Violent and/or threatening and/or inappropriate behaviour
    • Failure to meet campus rules

    In such cases, no refund will be given for the any unused portion of the program, and International House will not be liable to pay any costs linked to the expatriation of any student or group leader to their home country.

  • Late arrivals, vacations and absences. If you begin your enrollment late or are absent during your program, no refund will be made for the time missed. Periods of absence cannot be made up with a free extension of the program. Granting of any session breaks after the course has started will be at the discretion of the individual campus Director.
  • Damage Deposit: All students in the residential programs must pay a $250.00 damage deposit before or upon arrival. This deposit can be made via a credit card before arrival or in cash at arrival. The damage deposit will be returned to students upon an inspected checkout at the end of the program. If student if found responsible for having caused any damge during their stay at the program, they will be responsible to cover the complete cost of all damages accordingly.
  • Liability: The liability of International House, its group companies, their directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents and partners with respect to losses, damages, injuries, illnesses or violations or otherwise is (except where such a liability cannot be excluded as a matter of law) limited in all circumstances to the full amount paid to International House or relevant International House company by the relevant student for the particular program. Such persons will in no circumstances have any liability for indirect or consequential losses or damages.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to arrange all applicable travel permits and/or visas and to have a valid passport for entering Canada.
  • Students enrolled in our junior programs have emergency medical insurance included in the program package. Having this medical insurance is mandatory for students attending our junior programs. Students should be prepared and are responsible for covering all the possible expenses of the medical treatment at the medical institution they attend. Students can then claim the amount spent, to the health insurance company as per policy rules and regulations.   • Individuals or groups that would like to decline the mandatory emergency medical insurance policy through International House MUST provide proof of a similar policy coverage to the satisfaction of International House before the start of the program.
  • International House will not cover any medical treatment costs incurred by the participant while at our program. Pre-existing medical conditions are NOT covered by this policy.
  • Students must report, on their application, any medical conditions such as mental or physical illness, allergy, disability or conditions that may interfere with their ability to successfully complete the program, may impact the health and well-being of any other student or staff member, may require monitoring, treatment or emergency intervention of any kind during the student’s enrollment.
  • International House reserves the right to reject an applicant or terminate a student’s enrollment in the program if his/her participation represents a risk to their health and safety or to the health and safety or other students or staff, or if, notwithstanding reasonable accommodations, in the opinion of International House, the student’s physical or mental condition makes the student unable or unlikely to successfully complete their program.
  • Students and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) consent International House to use students' comments, photos and videos in the company website or other promotional materials, unless otherwise indicated in writing.
  • Force majeure: It is a basic stipulation of the agreement between students and International House, its affiliates or its representatives, that International House, its affiliates or its representatives are not liable in cases where they are unable to fulfill any services to which they are bound because of fire, natural disaster, act of government, failure of suppliers or subcontractors, labour disputes or other reasons which are beyond their control.
