  1. What is the TOEIC test?

"TOEIC" stands for the Test of English for International Communication. It is a standardized English proficiency test for speakers of English as a second language. The test aims to indicate how well a person can communicate in English in a business or workplace environment. For full details and up-to-date information on TOEIC, please visit:  http://www.ets.org/toeic
  2. Who should take the TOEIC test?

Thousands of businesses and international corporations use the TOEIC test when hiring new employees and/or promoting current staff. Anyone whose current or future employment requires proof of his or her ability to communicate in English should take the TOEIC test.
  3. Can I prepare for TOEIC at your school?

Yes. The TOEIC Preparation Course is offered all year round as part of our SG-30 and SG-35 programs. Students can start the course at the beginning of any calendar year. For complete details, please visit us at:  http://www.sol-group.net/languagecourses/toeic.php
  4. How much time will I need to prepare for the test?

Not everyone needs to achieve the same score on the TOEIC test. Depending on your level of English, you may need to study anywhere from 1 to 3 months. The average length of study for a TOEIC course among international students is 3 months.
  5. Can I take the TOEIC test at your school?

Yes. International House Toronto is a recognized private TOEIC test centre. Candidates must register for the test no later than 10 business days in advance of the date they wish to write the test.
  6. What is the cost of the TOEIC test?

The cost of the test is *$125 CAD with a 3 candidate minimum. Late registrations are subject to a *$30 penalty.

Students can register at any time. It is recommended that registration take place a minimum of one week in advance of the start date, in order to ensure that a space is reserved for you.
