IH Calgary Begins Its Garbage-Less Lunch Campaign This Week!

IH Calgary is joining a growing number of organizations aiming to reduce the amount of garbage we produce at our school by trying to eliminate all garbage normally associated with lunchtime.  Our snack bar already uses ceramic mugs for coffee that can be washed and reused.  Starting this week, we’re replacing all of our plastic knives and forks with metal utensils that can be washed and reused.

We also encourage and challenge all of our students to bring their lunches in reusable bags and to use containers that can be washed and reused.  A strong push is also on to make students aware of the recycling options at the school and to boost their use.  We take all of our student recycled items to the recycling depot every week.

Together, we can create a better and cleaner world for us now and for the future!
